Nursery and Reception
Week beginning 19th March 2018
This week we went outside to explore more signs of it being Spring. We used our sense of hearing to listen for signs. We heard lots of birds singing in the trees and hedgerows. The birds are beginning to make their nests. We found two bird nests high up in our trees.
We have been printing this week and have used a range of different printing tools.
Week Beginning 26th March 2018
The sound of the week will be ‘y’. If your child can find something at home which begins with the sound ‘y’ they can bring it into school and put it in the special box. .
The Reception children will be consolidating to read and write all the sounds they have learnt so far.
They will be adding 2 numbers and begin to understand subtraction by taking away and counting back along a number line.
There will be lots of Easter activities happening in class, including an Easter egg hunt.
Please remember that Wednesday is the last day of term – you are more than welcome to join your child in class from 1.30-2.30 on Wednesday as we will be holding a ‘come and see what we do in maths’ afternoon. There will be lots of maths based activities out for you to enjoy with your child.
