Nursery and Reception
Week beginning 8th January 2018
This week the weather has been very cold. We have been learning about the importance of keeping warm when we are outside by wearing the right clothes. The children worked together to sort clothes into those we wear when it is cold and those we wear when it is hot. The Nursery children made a scarf for a teddy bear and worked on their pre-writing skills by drawing lines from left to right across the paper. The Reception children experienced how it felt with and without gloves and hats on. On Thursday the Reception children got to watch a pantomime show about Peter Pan. The children thoroughly enjoyed it and got very involved!
Week Beginning 15th January 2018
The sound of the week will be ‘p’. If your child can find something at home which begins with the sound ‘p’ they can bring it into school and put it in the special box.
Within maths, the Reception children will be counting irregular objects. They will also be learning to read and write the sounds oo, ar, and or.
